Is there a way to continue to use Time Machine and have it automatically back up when an external Time Machine hard drive is connected but to suppress the reminder window that seems to pop up daily? Perhaps a Terminal command to disable that window?

I never get any reminder window from time machine, and I am not always connected to the time machine disk. What does this reminder say?

It displays a reminder of how many days it's been since the user last backed up. I don't back up to Time Machine too often since most files that I change or create on my Mac are also on Dropbox or my email archive, so I don't want to see this dialogue box daily.

As best I can tell, you will have to turn off time machine to avoid the nagging. Then just turn it back on when you want to do a backup.
