There's an annoyance I run into constantly when making changes to WiFi and connecting with a Mac. I do tech services in people's homes and businesses. Frequently I'll install or change their WiFi access points and routers.
When a device is powered off or has been changed the old name of the SSID will still show up when I scan for networks. I'll see this even when I turn WiFi on and off on the Mac. It might even be there after a reboot. I use iStumbler and even it still seems to have the old names not disappearing when they should.
Is there a way to get the Mac to forget about what it has seen and really start fresh?
