When I'm at home I use a 24in screen in place of my MBP, and then when I disconnect and go mobile...windows that were on the big screen are now off the screen of my MacBookPro and I cannot grab them to put them on screen...I can see them when I hit F9 for expose though.

That might be a wonky explanation, but maybe some of you have had this issue.

Have you tried going into System Preferences->Displays and hitting the Detect Displays button?

I seem to recall that that moved any windows that were on a now non-existant display to the main display.

Of course I could be wrong.
 
That unfortunately didn't quite work. I'll keep looking around. I've tried changing the resolution and that brought my icons back on screen, but other things still like to be off the screen.
