Google Contacts synced via CardDAV to the iPhone result in sub-par quality on photos and non-fullscreen backgrounds when people call. This is lame.

However, using iCloud to sync contacts solves this. And yet, then my contacts aren't on Google.

Is there a way around this? If you sync your contacts with Google there always seems like a chance that Google sends back an extremely low-res copy of the previous card image.

I think this might have been fixed with iOS 7. Don't think my contact pictures are being rescaled by google.
