I have hundreds of video files currently stored on an external RAID. What I'd like to do is organize the files in an app with some simple metadata. I've found some apps that will do this by looking up metadata from an online database, but since most of the videos are fairly obscure, this isn't helpful.
Right now, all of the files follow the same naming convention:
[Director]-[Title]-[Year]
I'd like for the software to tag the files based on this information.
I've been searching everywhere but I can't find software to do this. I like the uncomplicated layout of something like Chikoo (https://codingturtle.com/chikoo). The only problem is that I would have to tag them all by hand, which would take forever.
(Some other apps I checked out were: NeoFinder, Plex, Serviio, IDentify, Usher, Cinematica, iVideo, Submariner, iDive, and a few others.)
If no app can handle all of this, is there a way I can use a script or some other strategy to tag the files and then import them into some program for organization?
Thanks for your help!
