Way to preview partially downloaded movie files?

If i download a movie from filedeposit or filesonic.com and it's gonna take 20 minutes, I want to be able to preview it and see if it's legit. I've found that there's no way to open this file, even with VLC.

But when a movie is partially downloaded by Limewire it will play.

Why is this and is there a way to fix this?

If you get movies from a legal source, you don't need to verify them.

Stop stealing.
