Okay, I sell TVs and put my iphone in our home theaters before or after work to listen to and sometimes during work if I can hide the ipod dock. The one thing I hate though is when I plug in my iphone, I cant pick my music through my iphone, I have to use the home theater remote and the TV which is often more clunky and harder to navigate than the iphone.

Does anyone know of anything I can do to keep this from happening? I would imagine if possible it would have to be on a jailbroken iphone.

One thing you could do is bring a laptop with all your music loaded in iTunes and connect THAT to your sound system, and install the Remote app (made by Apple :D) from the official app store (free) onto your iPhone, and you'll be able to control iTunes on your laptop with your iPhone.

No jailbreak required.
