Ways to utilize iphone 2G

I was wondering what can i do with my old iphone 2g after i buy 3GS. Would anybody even buy it anymore? How much could I get for it? I guess I could use it as an iPod. When there are new updates to the software would it be treated like an iPod touch with the $10 fee?

People will definitely still buy it. I would suggest trying to sell it locally with Craigslist.

It's a hard sell with a $99 3G on the loose.

But, your 2G will be sans-contract, which is big, plus you could unlock it.
It's also a slightly cheaper data plan.

unlock it then sell it. you would get a little more money for it
