I just ordered the Toshiba MK1059GSM 2.5 12.5mm but the saw That WD do a 9.mm 1TB drive would it be better change and get the WD? i read that it was slightly quieter. I have had reliability problems with WD drives in the past.

Toshiba

8MB buffer
2.5in hard disk
SATA 3Gb/s Revision 2.6
3 platters
12.5mm profile
power consumption (manufacturer’s figures): 1.7W read/write, 0.65W low-power idle, 0.15W sleep power
123g

25dB for both idle and seek acoustics

WD

1TB hard disk
2.5in notebook drive
5400rpm
3Gbit/s SATA
8MB cache
22dBA (idle) 25dBA (seek) acoustic noise
1.4W (read/write) power consumption
100 x 70 x 9.5mm
110g

Being slightly thinner aint gonna make it better in a notebook, and being 3DBa quiter wont make much difference at all. Toshiba is much more reliable than WD. I advise for the toshiba
