WD External Hard Drive software

Has anyone used El Capitan with an encrypted WD external hard drive that uses WD Security software?
If so, how is the WD Security working? And which version have you used?

Personally, I would never use a drive's software. I would always use Apple's software to format the drive and Apple's FileVault for security.

You might want to read about the issues with the upgrade to Mavericks where WD users lost data due to using WD's software.
