What do you think of this hard drive? Is this a good deal? What exactly does open bag mean?

I'm not sure what open bag means...I haven't heard of this site either you might want to search Newegg.com for the same HD - they usually have pretty good deals too

I've dealt with OWC before and I'm pretty confident in them.

Edit: However my post is more concerning the actual hard drive, and Western Digital as a company, does anyone use WD in their own Macbook or recommend a different brand?

I use Western Digital and I never had any problems with the drives. To my knowledge they're solid and reliable. In fact I'm torn between getting a 1TB WD external HD and Apple's time capsule. Right now all i have are two WD 250GB drives.

I think WD Scorpios is one of the most used drives by the mac community when upgrading the old one. It's mostly because of the early release of a 320GB drive, but also because WD have quite good reputation

Yes this is definitely a good harddisk but really why not buy from Apple directly??

1. Do Apple sell Hard Disks ?
2. If they did they wouldn't sell a 250GB SATA laptop drive for $75

I have a 320GB WD disk in my MacBook - excellent. I have also swopped out 3 Seagate 60GB MacBook drives for 120GB WD drives and all are perfect.

Go for that drive - excellent value.
