WD My Book Live + MBPr question

To my understanding, WD My Book Live comes with an installation cd. Is there

another way to get the software on it since there is no CD drive on it?

I don't know the specific software in question, but a few generic points that should apply:

1) almost certainly any software supplied on a CD will be available for download on the WD website (EDIT: confirmed by above post)
2) you can use any other mac you have to share its CD drive over the network and use that to install
3) the drive itself will work fine without any software (just depends if you want to use WD's 'Live' cloud service
