Hiya guys, i need an external HD for my imac, i want the mybook by western digital, well, mainly bacause its very imac like in looks lol, and its a good price, anyhow, ive looked about and some places say its firewire 400 and others say 800, I need a 500GB one, doe the firewire 800 only start at these higher sizes?, also, if you have one post your experiences with it, id love to know what its like, thanks guys

I'm looking into these at the moment. It depends on which one you go for and what size. There are three models, one is USB, the next up USB/FW400 and then at the top a triple interface

I think for the 500MB version then there is the option of usb2/fw400 and the triple interface. Dunno if that helps.

They have three models:
  • MyBook Essential Edition = USB2
  • MyBook Premium Edition = USB2/FW400
  • MyBook Pro Edition = USB2/FW400/FW800
The Pro edition is white, the other ones are black.

The pro is silver comes in 250gb and 500gb it has firewire 800, firewire 400 and USB 2.0

I have just ordered one from Komplett.co.uk for about £111 including 3-4 day postage

there is black pro edition, but it's more expensive for some reason

I saw in the Office Depot flyer they had the MyBook 160GB essential edition on sale for $49.99...i think that's a good deal...not sure though.
