WD MyBook World and Time machine problem

Hi.
I'm wondering if anyone can help me with an error that's occurring with my Western Digital MyBook World Edition network HDD and time machine.
I downloaded iTimeMachine to get network drives to show up when configuring time machine, and all things looked promising until it told me the backup had failed.
"The backup disk image could not be created"
Has anyone had a similar problem? Is there a way to resolve this that isn't too pains-taking? :confused:
