WD netcenter with time machine, impossible?

Hi!
I've spent the last few hours trying to figure out if it is possible to set up time machine using my Western Digital Netcenter (NAS). I haven't found anything concrete, however I think (don't know) that it is impossible to format the NAS to HFS+.
Does anyone have any tips or information?
