I'm trying to replace a crashed hard drive in my wife's black MacBook (2007 vintage, I think). I bought a WD Scorpio Blue & installed it, but the MacBook won't see the drive--it doesn't show up in disk utility at all....

I put the drive into a USB enclosure I have, and my MBP was able to read and format the disk just fine. Put it back into the MacBook and it's invisible again.

Before I return the drive, is there anything else I should be doing? Is this a bad drive? Can I exchange it for another Scorpio Blue and hope for better? Should this drive work with her MacBook, or should I get something else?

Thanks!
