WD tv imac mirroring

Does anyone know how to mirror with a WD tv or turn it into a second screen? i can see the hard drive on it and swap files but was wondering if mirroring is somehow available.

What hard drive? Is it in the TV? If so, you are, incorrectly, using Target Disk Mode.

You would need to use a display cable to connect it to the TV. Most likely, you would need a HDMI cable and a mini display port to HDMI adaptor. Once connected, switch to the HDMI input on the TV and they should automatically mirror.

It's an Apple TV like thing made by Western Digital. You plug in an external hard and can play/stream media with it. I think it came out in 2010/2011.

i was hoping to not have to run a cable to it. but it looks like thats my only option. i got rid of cable so to watch sports games i usually find a stream online and was hoping to be able to mirror that with the WDtv but it doesn't seem possible.
