Weak Spelling in Apple Mail

I'm frustrated with the spelling in Apple Mail. It seem like I often use words that are not in it's dictionary. I find myself Googling my words that are tagged as mispellings, and then I just fix them by hand. Do you guys have similar experiences? Are their more robust spellers for Mail?

No, but seriously, Mail uses the same system-wide dictionary as is employed in TextEdit, iWork apps (if you have them) Safari, Adium, Camino, Colloquy... basically any app that uses Cocoa text-controls. So, at least take comfort in knowing that once you add that weird-ass word you just used, it'll be recognized in most other OS X apps.
