I have a Linksys Wireless-N WRT150N router that is connected to a Comcast high-speed modem. I used speedtest.net a few times and when connected wirelessly, my download speed is about 850kbs-1000kbs and my upload speed is about 1500-1800kbs. When I connect directly to the router via ethernet, I hit about 11,000+kbs download and 12,000kbs upload. I thought that it might have just been all routers that slow down that much but I was at my friends house and decided to try it and got 9,000+kbs download. I tried connecting directly as well and hit about the same as when I connect to mine directly.
If my speed was only a few hundred kbs slower than normal, I wouldn't really mind but 8,000+kbs less than my friends and 10,000+kbs less than when connected directly? That's just ridiculous. I'm not sure whether it is the router I have or what but I am hoping someone can clarify why it's so slow or offer a solution. Thanks.
