Anyway to fix the ASCN keys that seem to have gotten distorted for some reason. Nothing fell on the keyboard. This is gradually progressing to other keys as well.

I don’t think you can just paint them but maybe. I’ve seen keyboard stickers, but I’m not sure how durable they are. The actual fix is to replace the key caps.

If you have anything on your hands that contains oil, it can damage the keys. Like eating, french fries while touching your keyboard.

If it’s an older MacBook, it may not be worth the trouble. If you know your keyboard by heart, you could just ignore it.

this is a 2yr old Magic Keyboard. Is it possible to replace key caps on it?
Of course. You can go on Amazon or whatever and find replacement keys. Some people make it look easy but I found replacing keys to be difficult.

If I was going to do this, I would ask someone at the Apple Store if they could do it. If they didn’t want to help and the key was really bugging me, I would buy the replacement caps and do it myself. There are tutorials on YouTube.

I feel like there is some risk with doing it yourself so if it’s bugging you to the point where you’re just going to replace the keyboard anyway then the risk is worth taking. If it’s something you could ignore because you know what those keys are without looking at it then my recommendation would be to ignore it.

Of course this is coming from scaredy-cat me that doesn’t have experience replacing keys. I’ve seen people do it and they make it look super easy.

Hi everyone,

I have two Apple Touch ID keyboards A2520 that are experiencing significant wear on the key labels. When I visited an Apple Store in Zurich, they couldn't offer a replacement or any solution. Considering each of these keyboards costs around 200 CHF, it's quite disappointing that there's no option to replace individual keys. This level of service is frustrating.

I’m reaching out to see if anyone knows of a way to purchase individual keys or if there are any third-party solutions available. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
