I am not concerned about scratching, I know enough original iPhone owners to know that the screen is scratch resistant (not scratch proof, but resistant is good enough for me).

I am mostly concerned with the disgusting transfer of makeup/oil from my face/ear when I talk on the phone... Is there a particular screen shield that fights this better than others?

I've read in another thread that the Power Support Anti-Glare Film is effective against this. Don't take my word for it though as a) I have yet to receive my PS Anti-Glare Film, and b) I am not a woman nor do I wear makeup. Just relaying the message.

You should consider getting an anti-glare shield. This will prevent smudging from your fingers and face and the screen will remain virtually clean.

See, the iPhone's glass screen is shiny, making it a magnet to dust, fingerprints and yes make-up. Putting an anti-glare shield will make the screen "matte" (or non-shinny) and you don't have to wipe it after every use.

I have this and it's been on my iPhone ever since. I don't wear make-up but fingerprints are annoying enough for me to warrant a use of this screen.

Get this while you can:

Pros:
-Prevents smudges, excess dust and fingerprints...and make-up ;)
-Very good quality and easy to apply

Cons:
-Removes the shine on the iPhone's screen
-Makes the screen output a little grainy...but you'll get used to it in time

I posted in another thread that I bought a really good screen protector from Top Bargain Center on ebay for my 1st gen iPhone & bf's iPod Touch. I bought one for my 3G but since I also bought BodyGuardz I haven't used it yet so I'm not sure how the cut is on the 3G. We've had them on for months & they still look brand new.
