Weather App - Refreshing

So i have the weather app on my iPhone closed....i open it only once a week and then i turn it off (quit app)..... how does the weather app on Apple Watch gets into refreshing data?.....

What's the point of force quiting the weather app? That could mess it up.

I works the same way it's able to display the weather in the today view on your phone. Apps can request to be updated in the background even if they've been quit from the app switcher.
