On ios16 latest beta. My gf is on the latest ios15.
We are sitting side by side, and her weather conditions are completely different.
Same app (Apple weather app), same settings (currant location)
My ios16 is showing 5 degrees warmer out. Hers shows a chance of rain later (40% chance) and mine says 0%.
When I type weather in Google, it shows up exactly what hers shows.
Is ios16 weather different/bugged??

Probably because on iOS 15 the app uses The Weather Channel data source but on iOS 16 it uses Dark Sky/Apple. Scroll to the bottom in both apps. Is there The Weather Channel logo at the very bottom of the Weather app on iOS 15?

Ive noticed that on iOS 16 weather has been all over the place, its showing full sunshine when raining/thundering etc. I know I can use the report feature to correct the weather details but thats kind of nuisance to do all the time.

Not a single time my weather app has identified that its raining on iOS 16.

I very much prefered Weather Channel on iOS 15 over Dark Sky on iOS 16. On iOS 15 Weather Channel was on point, it showed that its raining when it actually was raining. Sometimes it was so much on point that it was almost scary.

Please provide your feedback through the Feedback app.

So far, I haven’t found any weather data discrepancies in my locaiton, but the weather app has built in ways to submit both crowd sourced feedback for improving the forecast accuracy as well as feedback to Apple developers on data issues.

iOS 16 is the beginning of Apple relying solely on the Dark Sky forecasting and removing the Weather Channel integration, so I'm sure they would welcome all the feedback and crowdsourced weather data folks are willing to provide!

Question: on iPadOS, I can click on one of the days in the multi-day forecast and get hour by hour details about data like temperature, wind, precipitation and so on.
On my iPhone, still on iOS 15.x, in the weather app, clicking on one of the multi-day forecasts, nothing happens (it was always this way).

Can someone confirm that on iOS 16, using the iPhone, I get access to the same level of detailed data as on my iPad?

I should say that I'm in Europe and we didn't have DarkSky previously. But it DOES work on the iPad on iPadOS 16 now.

Yes. The additional details are available on iPhone on iOS 16.

I see many are suggesting “Dark Sky data sources” are being used in 16, instead of The Weather Channel for some countries. Is this actually what is happening? I suspect they have it tied to beta sources that are simply inaccurate, or not updating but x times a day.
Do we really know? If anyone can point me to information about sources for 16 weather, I would appreciate it.
Asking because I have Dark Sky installed and the data in that app does NOT match Apples Weather app - they are both off by several degrees f.

I am in Italy at the moment, iOS 16 on my ipad and iOS 15 on my iPhone. Native weather apps differ a lot, but it seems the iOS16 is more in line with other weather apps and sources.

Bumping up this thread, I have been noticing the differences as well. Weather app forecast provided is WILDLY different between my devices still running on iOS 15 and iOS/iPadOS 16. Devices running on iOS/iPadOS 16 is way off on precipitation/storms while devices running on iOS 15 seem to be spot on.

I really like the presentation of the weather in the new weather app. I just hope that Apple intends to upgrade everyone to hour-by-hour weather, which hopefully tightens up the forecasts.

The weather app links to weather.com which in turn links to wunderground.com when you click on weather API. Not sure if that's the most reliable source for European weather.
