Web Apps and Push?

Not sure if this has been discussed or not, but ...

Can web apps make use of PNS at all? Maybe in a future Safari update?

The scenario I'm specifically thinking about is Gmail. Puttingthe gmail web clip on my springboard, and having it be able to push out badge updates would be just as good as a native gmail app in my mind.


Thoughts? Has this been discussed at all already?

Can't be done currently. Doubtful that it will be added.

Web apps now use Location Services so I guess anything could be possible.
