A friend and I have the opportunity to co-locate a server at one of our local ISP's for a very small fee per GB.. we're going to go ahead.
Basically the server will be a linux (fedora core) machine. have mySQL, apache, ftp, ssh, the rest isnt important.
I'd like to setup some sort of workgroup or portal or something of some sorts for my friends an I to share information (calendar, addresses, notes, dev code, etc) preferably a web-based setup.
Out of a group of four or five friends, two of us will be using OS X. dunno if this is important or not.
If anyone can recommend some kind of open source software that I could look at for this purpose?
Is there a way I can get some sort of ".mac"-style functionality going? (syncing, backing up, publishing to web.. ?). excuse my lack of OS X knowledge, my machine hasnt arrived yet.
I've played with a few CMS's such as e107, mambo, etc.. but I guess I'm not really after a CMS..
Taa,
James
