Is there a device out there that I can surf the web or watch videos from like youtube/connect too wifi that's smaller than a laptop. I don't bring my mb once I crawl into bed and ofcourse my sidekicks internet is poor. Is there a device like that or did I basically just describe a low cost netbook

no although some phones have pda features.
I have a windows mobile based fujitsu siemens n520 pda and will soon have an xperia x1 - both based on windows mobile but one doesn't have the phone features and cost considerably less.
Think ipod touch and iphone - same core os, but different hardware
You've also got the palm based options albeit harder to come by now.
