I bought my MacBook Pro 13" 2.4 GHz in late April (new version). I have no added third party software. Everything worked fine until I did the Safari 5 update. Then web pages would freeze when opening for about 3-5 seconds. Then the page would finish opening.

I have also updated OS X to 10.6.4 after this started happening. It did not correct the problem. I experienced this at several locations, including the Apple store when doing one-to-one classes, so I know it's not a problem with my ISP.

Anything I can check into before I take it to the Apple Store? Have others had this happen?

safari 6 in my opinion is full of bugs...i get this quite a lot, buts its unpredictable.

nothing wrong with your hardware, download the new firefox and chrome if it frustrated you until there is an update

I've stopped using Safari. It used to be real fast, but started to slow down. I downloaded Chrome, but recently it's been slow too, but not as much as Safari. I think i'm going to try firefox next.

Had the computer over a year and never download 3rd party add-on for safari 4?

Maybe you did maybe you didn't

You be surprised sometimes what installed on your computer.
At any rate I would check double check if you have any safari add-ons.

I have 0 zero issues with safari 5.

Just try this link
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3230

Empty everything inside except /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
If the other folders have something inside, you have a add-on for safari

/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
/Library/Input Methods/
/Library/InputManagers/
/Library/ScriptingAdditions

~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
~/Library/Input Methods/
~/Library/InputManagers/
~/Library/ScriptingAdditions

Dashcs, I have only had my MBP for 10 weeks, not a year. I tried the link. In my Library I only had two of the four folders listed. Both folders were empty.

I have a one-to-one session on Tuesday and will ask the techs about this and post their response here.

Thanks
