I read about the Nitro Engine for Safari which would supposedly improve JavaScript performance, etc. etc. I wasn't expecting this much improvement though. Pages that used to hang for me while loading or scrolling are much smoother now. It'll be even faster on the iPad 2 but this is a damn good start.
 
That's good to know but anyone who uses atomic browser with adblock enabled already now enjoys amazing speeds in web browsing on the iPad.

That is just inaccurate. All third party browsers use the exact same browsing engine as Safari.
I have used almost all of them and Safari was almost always faster (but still slow compared to a desktop browser).

Not quite. If safari had an option for the adblocking extension it'd sure be e faster alternative. It's a matr of course if you disable ads your loading times will be faster. :)

I was comparing 3rd party browsers with Adblock enabled to Safari.
