Webcam recording on Powerbook???????? HELP

Hi I have the last model Powerbook G4 that apple made. I am very happy with it, and I have a logitech webcam connected to it. I recently started making videos to post on youtube and am using my regular camera to make them and upload them. I am curious to know if there is a way that I can record onto my computer through the webcam instead and then uploading it right to youtube from there. I think that I can do it with quicktime, but it asks me to purchase pro for like 30 bucks. I don't know if that will work for sure though. I am curious to know if there is a different way or program I can use to test it out and see if I like that method. Thanks for your responses and all your help.
