When I open photobooth a black screen comes up showing completely nothing.

When I remove the camera it shows that no camera is connected. So it detects the camera but doesn't show the image?

Any help?

What model/brand external webcam are you using? If the webcam has drivers, are they installed?

Have you tried simply quitting and reopening Photobooth? My iMac periodically comes up with a black screen in Photobooth. If I quit and reopen, everything works.

Sometimes I find pulling my webcam out and reconnecting it with Photo Booth running sorts it out. 99% of the time it's fine but occasionally it weirds out - some settings in Photo Booth to help work out what on earth is going on would be appreciated sometimes.
