I'm putting together a navigation bar. Using jQuery, on mouseover, the link slides 10px to the right, and slides back on mouseout.

As the link slides back (mouseout), it leaves a weird trail behind it. I think it's the subpixel anti-aliasing. This occurs only in webkit browsers (Safari and Chrome), not in Firefox or Camino.

The trails remain if you drag the window around, but they go away if you resize the window or select the text. (So I guess they go away on redraw.)

I've attached a screenshot.

Is there anything I can do about this?

(For clarification, these are text links, not images)
