Webmail Access via Mail app

Hi, spent lots of time reviewing posts on this, but can't seem to make this work!!
OWA access via safari works fine using the following:-

Url: https://hostname.domain.com
Username: lan_Username
Password: lan_password

no problem, all logged in and OK

now when i try to set up in mail i click the Microsoft Exchange option on the add account page, enter my email address, leave the domain blank, enter my username and password as above. This fails to verify and asks me to confirm my severname, i enter it as hostname.domain.com, and voila it doesn't work!!
Any help would be gratefully received!!

Try saving with the failed settings and then go into advanced settings and disable SSL.
