website feedback please

I'm sorry, I would give feedback, but the first link that you gave looks for regestration, and after looking at the second image, I don't think it is the right website. As for the gap, which one are you talking about? :confused: –Chase
 
oops, my mistake. i fixed the link.

the gap is in between the top image and the menu. it's also separating the menu and the content.
 
its ok, but my biggest concern is that the text gets lost in the background image. You need to do something that will provide more contrast - or use a simpler font.

As Mr. Anderson pointed out, the text is a bit hard to read, although it isn't too bad. Maybe if the background was a little lighter. The background is nice though. Also, "something" is spelled wrong in the first text box. It feels a little awkward (?) to have the buttons almost to the left of the middle. In later development, you may consider adding "light up" buttons, so that the text "lights up" when you mouse over the button. Also, I checked your website with the W3 validator, you can find the results anytime (no matter what you change, it'll update itself) here. Good luck on the site, it looks like it's coming along nicely.

thanks for the feedback. i fixed the problems in the validator, and have lightened up the background. is it better now, or should i lighten it more?
also, does anyone know how to get rid of the ugly gap between the menu and the top image in windows?

You may not like this, but I am going to advise a motto...

K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple, Stupid

Reason: The background is so busy that is distracting attention from the actual content of the site. There are two things which I learned this past semester about Graphic Design that are the two most important elements in a work: Content and Form

Content is the subject matter, the story, and/or the information.
Form is how the information is presented; purely visual.

Good Graphic design is defined as the balancing of both Form and Content. For this site, your Form is overpowering your Content. Sorry to say this, but if you want the site to look professional, you may want to start from square one again and use a logo with simple designs and/or gradients that will be beautiful on their own, but not distract the viewer from the actual content itself.
