If you want a certain image or flash file to save to your computer you can actually hack into the URL and download the stand alone file using Safari.

Open the Activity window in Safari and find the file you are looking for.

For starters, click on this link: http://www.addictinggames.com/oldpong.html

and use the Activity window to find the link for the flash file presented.

Copy the link, open in a new window, and save to your desktop.

In this case, you have just downloaded the original Pong.

To check, here is the url for the hack you want: http://www.addictinggames.com/pong.swf

MrMacman, got them to work.

Copy the webaddress of the picture you want [from the activity winodw, it's much easier], open the link in a new browser, and go to:

File > Save As...

Just save to your desktop.

BTW: Great link. I need to add to my collection of Shakira photos now... :D

Option #2: Apple -- Shift -- 3 :D

I have tried (alot) to do #1, but it downloads monkey.gif (REALLY ANNOYING. ARG!!!)

And I did Option #2 with Shift -- 4 but that takes a frikken long time for EVERY picture!

Interesting tips, but the ReallyLongOneWordWithNoBreaksInItAtAllLocationInYourProfile is a bit annoying, everybody. ;)

A mod seems to have taken that away.

Tho Andrej's is still about the same as my location *was* and they didn't edit.

Well, I know that no mod will read this so I'm going to report this post so that the mods can know that I care.

you can use a similar 'hack' to download a file off of a server that is getting slammed. if you use wget to get the link you pull from the source, it will almost always get the file ahead of other people waiting...even on ftp sites.
