Wechat not working properly

Hi Everyone,

I'm having issues with Wechat on my Apple watch. I get the notifications on the watch but when I reply back, the reply doesn't go through. Only if I click 'OK' on the notification, that seems to go through.

I believe this issue started happening after watchos2 so I'm not sure what went wrong. Even before the watchos2 update, it would have issues opening : get stuck with the loading wheel

Isn't WeChat one of the virus infected apps from China? Hope that isn't an issue. Doubt it though.

Not sure I know what would cause that, but wanted to share the virus concern in case you hadn't heard.

Yes, I know its one of the affected apps but they claim to have it fixed in my version.

Well at least im not alone ;-) Lets hope they fix this. Not a deal breaker but my wife and have gotten used to wechat.

Hey there Laserducky. I actually had some minor issues with Siri on my watch after updating to WatchOS 2 in that every time I tried to dictate a reply for Messages or WeChat, it wouldn't work; seemed like the mic wouldn't activate or something.

I rebooted my Watch... lo and behold, it suddenly started working again! I have been able to reply on WeChat now but I will admit I don't do it that often as I often get hit with the loading circle, just like you, and sadly it seems faster to pick up my phone to reply. Hopefully that will change when Tencent gets around to turning it into a native app...

Yes,

I just notice the incoming notifications and then if required, I reply back from my phone. Previously, I could at least reply back from the watch but that appears to be broken for me for now.

So are you not even able to reply back with canned responses like "Thanks!" or with stickers? I find if I want to reply back to a message with one of those it can be okay on the watch, though occasionally waiting for the stickers to load is a hassle and would be faster if I pulled out my phone.

That being said, it's still much better than the Pebble watch I was using before and I've gotten into much better shape thanks to the activity rings, so still very much worth it to me in the end.
