iPod touch Week 38 Touch - Hissing/Crackling?

Hi,

I have had my Touch for around 1-2 weeks and just got a pair of Shure SE210 Headphones and when I plug them in with no music etc there is a faint hiss/crackling. When playing songs it seems fine apart from inbetween different songs when its quite. I hear the crackling here as well. Is this normal or is my Ipod defective or will a software update fix this?

i own 3 pairs of high quality headphones and in ear monitors and I hear just about everything with those. I would ask, can you hear the crackling on the old headphones, or is this something that is only happening with your shure headphones...

I just tried the Apple headphones and I hear the crackling on the Home screen and inbetween the songs, it doesn't seem as loud on the Apple headphones either.
