new site up and running. http://wegotogetherlike.com very basic right now. thinking about listing each submission in a formatted box rather than just on a white background. something simple though. possibly want to list ten per page? thoughts on that one anybody?

ideally i want the main page to be the 10 most recently approved submissions. then have options for another page to pull one at a time random as it does now.

not really sure what other functionality to add, i think thats it for now. would appreciate your opinions.

good point though. i think when i list the 10 or so per page they will be scaled down.

just added http://wegotogetherlike.com/recent.php to show the last 20 that have been approved. a bit messy but it works for now.

should i make it so the main quote is a link that takes the user to the bigger version?

hah, yeah its a collection of user submitted quotes. we have a fair bit now in the db, so evidently some people get it. we are just working on different ways of displaying them. as you see currently its one quote. Click on the quote and it loads another random from the database.

Now that I know the concept...

I like the idea, but I would change some things. First, I would make the font smaller. Second, I would have in small text at the top of the page something like:

"We go together like ____ and ____. Submit yours here!"

Have it change the entry on refresh and put clear instructions on the page to click through to the next random one. I refreshed a few times before realizing I had to click the text. Don't assume users know what to do. They don't.

You may want to make the site a tad more obvious. I get the point, but when I clicked on it, I failed. You need to tell people what or why to submit.

thanks for the tips guys. i think making everything more obvious will help get the point of the site across as you suggested.

im working on updates and will hopefully have something more user friendly by next weeks.
