Now my iPhone 4s (jailbroken) has started making this weird random noise. It sounds like an alien throwing up for 1-2 seconds. There is no notification on the screen when it happens, so its not a notification sound. I don't believe I installed any new app since hearing this, so I don't know what triggered it. I tried powering off, rebooting, respringing, etc. It may be hours or minutes between occurences, but it still occurs. Anyone have a clue?

Are you sure it doesn't sound like a kitten mewing? Because mine will randomly start making little kitten noises for 1 - 2 seconds, but nothing comes up on the screen!

No, its a screechy kind of sound. Disturbing, like an alien salamander, darting out its long tongue. Not comforting like a kitten.

Uh.... how? I, uh.... ummm.... well, it's not because I actually am an..... I saw it in a movie. Yeah, that's it. The sonic event to which I describe is reminiscent of something I saw in one of your earthling movies.

Update: Well, I printed out all the helpful responses in this thread to my problem, then I lined my bird cage with it, then I went to work.... and I think I've figured it out (knock wood). So in case anyone has the same problem, here goes nothing....
The weird intermittent random noise that would go off for no reason, even when the phone was on lockscreen, seems to be a setting in "Springtomize". Specifically, "tv animation", "play sound". I think the alien sound was supposed to be the sound of a tv turning off (hardly). I believe this feature is only supposed to activate when the screen turns off, but it never did that. Instead, it just triggered itself every few minutes or hours.
