iPad Weird app update issue

I have an ipad air and have had this issue for a month or so now and I've never seen it before.

When I go to update an app from the App Store list of apps that need updates it just opens the app. It says update next to the app, but tapping it just opens the app itself.

I can manually search each app and update that way but that would take a while and it's annoying.

Has anyone seen this before?

Restart or sign in then out of iTunes. App updates have been kinda wonky lately but its bound to get resolved soon like last year.

Neither of those worked.
