Weird apple online store charges on bank account after ordering 4S...

Anyone else getting this? I have 3 separate charges totaling up to $718.59 when the total should have been $425.86. Called the 1800-apple store number and they said it was just pre-authorization stuff and that when it ships it puts everything else back on and only takes the $425.86 out of the account. Kinda weird...my friend had this happen to, anyone else?
