I have a mid 2012 MBP, upgraded the HDD a few weeks ago to a WD Blue 256GB SSD. It worked great for a few days now it won't power on at all. No lights fans etc.
Unhooked battery, computer boots up fine with the mag-safe power cable and battery disconnected. It will not power up with the button, but by connecting the mag-safe power cable only.

If I connect battery back up, it boots with the mag-safe power supply connected. Again. does not boot by button... only when connecting power. Once booted, If I unhook the mag-safe connector, it runs fine off battery.

If I shut it down it will not boot back up with battery connected. I need to unhook battery for a minute or so, reconnect battery, then power cable and it boots on it's own. I also tried the PRAM/NVRAM and Reset SMC with no luck.

I have another MCP laying around that is toast, I tried that battery in this laptop and had the same results.

Any help on watch the issue is and a possible fix would be appreciated.
