So, my MacBook Pro (15 Inch, with Touch Bar, 2017), is saying Service Recommended (started 3 weeks ago), that max capacity is 67% (cycle count 88). I probably have overused it (on for more than 18 hours a day.....). It's always plugged into power.

I'm going to get it serviced, but something weird is happening.

As I said, it's always plugged in, but at least once a week so far, that it will just shut off mid use, no warning. When looking at health, it's like it just wipes out the charge in half an hour, even though connected to mains. Never had that before, only since this battery service recommended popped up. I would have not expected this to happen. I'd just expect it wouldn't last long when not plugged in.

Is this a bug, or just something that's part and parcel of the battery dying?

Hi Ansath. Same thing happening on my 2017 MacBook pro 13" no touch bar. same use case. The computer is docked most of the time with the lid closed, connected to two external displays and a USB hub for keyboard and mouse. When using it with battery, it randomly shuts down about 1/2 hour into use. I have been resetting SMC and turning it back on successfully every time it happens so it seems like this could be a bug. Haven't been able to solve the issue. Where you able to solve the issue with yours?
