I have a 2016 Macbook Pro (Touchbar).
Back in November I got an ipad and I didn't use my macbook pro for a few months. About a month and a half ago, I tried using my computer again. It hasn't been opened for about 2-3 months. It wouldn't turn on. Completely dead. I took it to apple and they said it's probably a logic board issue. $800 fix. I couldn't afford it at the time. Last night I plugged it back in. Still nothing. This morning, out of nowhere, it came back on.... I'm happy... but not sure why that even occurred. Any ideas??

Thanks so much for your help!

When your battery is completely drained, it may require being plugged in for a while before it has enough power to turn on. Alternatively, if you have a logic board issue, it could be intermittent. I'd certainly create a bootable backup of your computer ASAP, in case it fails completely.

How to store Apple notebook computers and their batteries

Also, keeping a lithium ion battery completely drained for an extended period of time (several months) can damage the battery. That is to say, your battery will have a shorter life span.

As stated, it's a very bad idea to let your battery get that low. It's far better to just leave it plugged in for months at a time than unplugged and drained. Amusing, though, that the Apple Store wanted to charge you $800 to replace a logic board. I'm assuming that you told them that you hadn't used it in months, so they should have recommended that you leave it charging for 24 hours. I'm of the opinion that Apple is attempting to make up revenue by pushing services like logic board replacements, all after their slumping iPhone sales.
