by mistake i have moved my macbook when playing a dvd 2 times , and it does an ugly sound like scratching the cd, nothing happened to the cd tho, is this normal?

I've done this a few times as well, guess the case is twisting slightly as it is being picked up causing the disc to impinge on the internals of the drive making that sound. I try not to move it with a disc in.

The same vibration isolation that helps keep the drive quiet and prevent it from resonating throughout the chassis - is also allowing the spindle to flex from centrifugal force. On most of the drives I've seen lately, there is a plastic "shield" around the top of the laser sled. Most likely you heard that, or the outer edge of the disc rubbing against the housing.

If the disc is not being scratched, then great -- but I'd still avoid moving it.

not loving it but oh well i guess if its normal i can live with it
