i have a mid-2012 MBP two VGA external monitors hooked up to my macbook pro...one of which was connected via displayport (adapter to VGA) and another that was connected via USB to VGA adapter. the monitors both seem to work fine, except for some weird artifacts and colors in what seems to be finder only (see image).

my wife just bought me a docking station for my birthday, and now both monitors are showing these symptoms (previously was only the USB connected one). also the menubar at the top of the screen shows gray as the highlight color, not blue as the built in display does (which is what i have selected in my settings). the docking station has one connected to the built in DVI slot (via the DVI to VGA adapter it came with), the other connected to the same USB adapter that was originally connected to the computer directly.

this is the docking station: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072B9624...olid=1KFGS1B2VP63T&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

anyone have any idea how to fix? it doesn't seem a hardware issue, because with my mom's MBP (same exact model) via the same two external adapters (displayport and USB), there was no issue...so it seems to be a software issue on my particular machine. i just haven't had any luck figuring out what it is. i tried calibrating the displays but had no luck...
