Since yesterday the colours on my MacBook Pro 2019 are weird. The drop-shadows from the windows are pink instead of grey. A lot of parts have this weird pink colour to it. Could it be overheating the graphics card or the display? I can't find anything in the settings that changes this. Starting in safe mode doesn't help. Yesterday i had an external display on my Mac. I had that display connected many times but maybe the heat played a part? Does anyone have an idea what this could be or what might help> A lot of pink. Not a full pink screen though.

Edit: when i connect a second display, the colour issue does not appear on the second screen...

This is a symptom of a failing display cable in your MacBook Pro. It’s a hardware issue that won’t be solved for a reasonable amount of money :(. In my opinion, the best option is to use it with an external display in clamshell mode and ignore the problem.

Thank you so much. That's it i think. When i wiggle my screen it changes colour. I can still use it on an external display but i also ordered a MacBook Pro M4. The current MacBook Pro was from 2019 and has served me extremely well in those 6 years. No issues whatsoever until this happened. However, some apps are becoming incompatible so i'm kinda forced to buy a new one anyway.

Is there anyway to avoid this cable failing? I don't think i ever put it to any stress. Or is it simply caused by opening and closing for hundreds of times?
