Help macrumors, just wondering if anyone has experienced this issue as well

everytime I put my iPhone 4 to sleep, it makes some funky noises, and it wont go away

I recorded a video showing it happening more than once and i also included me closing all my apps in the multitasking

heres a video

has anyone experienced this too?

The only time I've had this happen is if my brothers phone and my phone are right next to each other. Facetiming with him and I went by him during it, and testing the antenna stuff with our phones on the table, both on speaker. If a noise came through (voice, anything) it would do weird noises like that until we took 1 phone away from the other.

Never when putting it to sleep though. That's weird.

My 3G would do that after using an app that recorded sound, like Shazam.

Once I was talking right before I locked it and the sound it played back was a distorted version of my own voice. Scared the **** out of me. I was freaking out till I found out it was my phone.

Hasn't happened on my iPhone 4 yet.

Did you download any cheesy 60s movie sound effects mp3s recently? It sounds like something from Star Trek.

That's normal feedback.

Mine Too!

My iPhone 4 started making that noise tonight. It would happen anytime my iPhone made a tone (plugging it in to charge, send/receive email, etc.). I was able to fix it by shutting the phone down and starting it back up. I'm interested in finding out what caused it in the first place.

This just happened to me a few minutes ago. My iPhone was plugged into my macBook less than a foot apart. I got a text message which started quickly repeating itself and then turned to the weird repetitive locking sound like above in this post and on youtube. I rebooted the phone immediately and that took care of the problem. hasn't happened again. yet.
