I'm currently in the phase of calibrating my battery where you're supposed to drain it completely for the first time by using it until it just shuts down.
Now having gone through a bunch of defective MBP's, I've gone through this process quite a few times. Normally, you get the low battery warning, and then a few minutes later, the computer goes black and just shuts down.
However, with this MBP does something very odd..something that I haven't seen in any of the MBP's I've gone through. The screen goes black as it should like it's about to shutdown, but a few seconds later, it powers right back up and I'm able to use it for about 10 more minutes before it finally shuts down. I know this isn't the "display sleep" going into effect because I am using the computer the entire time when this happens.
I thought this might be a glitch related to the 9600 card, but I drained the battery on another MBP using the 9600 and it didn't do this.
Anyone have a clue as to what's going on? Defective battery? Hardware issue?
Edit: Another detail. On the other MBP's, when the computer has gone into deep sleep mode due to battery drainage, it saved the state of the computer, ie: if I had safari opened etc. But with the MBP that's doing the weird behavior, it did not save anything, but was as if it was a complete shutdown.
