SO here's what happens. I turn on the computer... chimes... grey screen w/ apple... blue screen "Starting MAC OS X" progress bar makes it way across the screen... then it gets to the end.. and nothing. it just sits there...
so... i ran in in single user mode, did a fsck, and I got an error saying the hardrdrive had an error, which could not be repaired...
so... i put in the OS X install disk, and held "c" then got the utilities to come up... tried to run "repair disk" and got an error saying "keys out of order" cann not be repaired...

i ran tech tools... but i dont think it is repairing the issue...

i am going to try to re-install the OS if nothing else... but i just want to repair the problem.. i dont have a thrid party utitlity like "disk warrior" i keep seeing posts about using that to fix HD probs... but i dont have it...

If you're trying to preserve stuff on the computer you can try an archive and install, as opposed to an erase-and-install.
