ok, I was just burning a cd, and just before it finished burning I got an error message that said "the device drained its buffer without burn underrun prtection". I have absolutely no idea what that means. The only thing that I can think of is that that was the fourth audio CD I'd burned in itunes in a couple of hours. But since I don't even understand what the message means, I have no clue where to begin.

That means that the cd-rom drive couldn't burn as fast as the data was getting to it, so the buffer that remains in memory to account for such a problem ran out. It's most likely just a bad CD, try burning the same material on a different disc, and it should burn fine.
